Any word on how this may affect future classes like October? Seems like attrition is going back up.

Well if we are offering voluntary LOA I dont think we need to hire much til next spring maybe. Plus all the new guys pick up as much as they can so they can get out of here. Theres attrition but not a lot with everyone slowing hiring. I think we are streamlining for another potential run on Spirit.

After reading the training department email claiming no more than 3-4 down at a time I ran some rough numbers. Even with no spare engines we would be able to out grow the P&W aircraft going down before we reduced our order size. Now with updated numbers we are completely flat next year and wont see growth until 2026. Now this does assume worst case scenario, but that was highly disappointing to see.
Almost as disappointing as no XLRs am I right Herc?!
indeed disappointing.

If we are flat all next year I guess that means no upgrades until 2026. I can only imagine how far down the priority list a contract has gone. Somewhere between offering airfare to Europe and making sure rampers have batteries for their wands.

Where is this assumption we are going to be flat? Depending on when a few pratts go down at a time it could possibly go flat for a few months but still taking almost 2 planes a month. The only variables we don't know are loaner engines and extended leases. A lot of missing information to be all doom and gloom quite yet.

Uncle B said "mid to upper single digit growth next year."
Could be they have a plan to increase our utilization that hasn't really recovered from COVID.
Probably all depends on of the economy crashes this fall.

Yes for sure. Im just painting a worst case scenario. That how I live plan for the worst, hope for the best.
The Pratt AD affects 24 of our aircraft. If you just take a look at when they were delivered and use that as a timeline of when they go down we could have 20 down at the end of a year. So worst case is we lose 28 (8 retirements and 20 to inspections) over the next year and gain 21. As you say the remaining variables are how many leases did we extend for next year, how long is the actual inspection timeline, when do they start to go down, and how many spare engines do we have?

Well considering the classes and hiring folks likely already were privy to this information, I'd consider it to have been "baked in."
There's really no telling what's gonna happen. They're hiring 10 in September and Ocotber. What happens beyond that depends on so many factors none of us here are privy to it's impossible to speculate, and the company will keep that stuff under wraps - if they know themselves, that is.
Things change quick. Seems we're in a slow period across the industry. Who knows what Q4 and 2025 will bring. Good luck in getting your number called!

Just curious, did your source say that would be the case after the new system bid is awarded? Or did we just find out the no more upgrades was in fact a rumor?
